Case Study - House Extensions / Rebuilds
House Extensions / Rebuilds
JWPC has considerable experience working with homeowners on securing planning consents where necessary for larger scale house extensions, up to the complete replacement of an existing house. We can work with your architect throughout the design process to consider the chances of success of the proposals as they develop.
A recent example included the complete demolition and replacement of an existing house in the Lancashire Green Belt. The photographs here show the before and after shots for an existing 1940s prefabricated building on a relatively larger plot that was replaced by a large modern dwelling. Working with the architect and homeowner directly, JWPC successful secured planning consent for a replacement of the original dwelling more than double its size.
The site was in the Green Belt where restrictive planning policies seek to prevent development, and local policy sought to restrict increases in the volume of existing dwellings by not more than 15%. Through focusing on the details of the site and the improvements that the new dwelling provided to the local vernacular, JWPC managed to secure planning consent for this replacement property.
JWPC's detailed and professional approach to working with the relevant decision takers was fundamental in securing this planning consent for our client.
